Briana has been an athlete all her life…just not an endurance athlete!  Briana grew up playing tennis and didn’t take to endurance sports until her sophomore year of high school when she decided to try out for the cross-country team.  Feeling years behind her teammates in both fitness and skill set, Briana became a student of the sport.  Years later, she attributes her early success to “doing all the little extras” and not over-training.  Briana believes in understanding and utilizing the body’s mechanics to perform at it’s best, all while making sure you are optimizing your unique abilities.  With that being said, Briana was fortunate enough to run for two of the best Division I running programs in the nation: Colorado and Wisconsin.  That experience helped shape Briana’s coaching philosophy: “No two athletes are the same, and hence cannot be coached the same. “ Being coached under two completely different programs, she was able to learn the multiple ways to get from point A to point B and believes the key is finding out the best way for YOU to get there.

Briana has a B.S. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with emphasis on energy metabolism in UW-Madison’s Department of Nutritional Sciences.  Briana is the 2006 Professional Duathlon National Champion, and was ranked in the top 10 collegiately and top 40 nationally on the track.  She qualified for the Short Course Triathlon World Championships and Duathlon World Championships in her first season and has since been a member of a world team every year.   Her specialties consist in coaching runners and triathletes of all levels and abilities.
